Pearl Izumi 24 Hours Cycling of Le Mans: new record of participation
The 2016 attendance record is broken for this Pearl Izumi 24 Hours Cycling of Le Mans 9th edition! 2166 riders will rush on the Le Mans circuit on Saturday 26th of August 2017, divided in 500 teams coming from 15 different nations.

2020 Shimano 24 Hours Cycling of Le Mans: The event is confirmed

Mostly registered in teams of 2 to 8 members, this year a hundred single riders will face the Le Mans night on this legendary track. All profiles will be represented according to the chosen category. Starting from experienced cyclists to Sunday sportsmens, everyone will come to live at his own pace his 24 Hours Cycling of Le Mans, in the conviviality of the Paddock and the Houx camping area.
François Pervis will start the race “Type Le Mans“ (see photo). Holder of 7 world titles and Olympic medallist, the captain of the Team S1neo-Okust will race in a 6 riders team, including Ewen Fernandez also multiple World Champion but in roller skate.
Other personalities will be present such as hammer throwing champion Manuela Montebrun, multi-medal Para-Cycling athlete Marie-Amélie Le Fur, or even the skier and pilot Luc Alphand.
At the head of the race, outsiders will have to be strong to counter the S1neo Team Connect, engaged in the 6 riders category. Sébastien Duret (10 seasons professional) and Julien Guay (5 seasons professional) will be the captains of a homogeneous team motivated to defend their titles won in 2015 and 2016. You will also need to count on Team Mutuelle Solimut Center Ocean led by Gérôme Toloni, 2nd in 2016 with less than one lap. And what if the threat would come from the Netherlands with the Baum Cycles team (4 riders)? Ranked 15th in the general category and 4th in the 4 riders category, new reinforcements joined the adventure this year.
Concerning the single category, Evens Stievenart will try to retain his title with the aim to ride over 900 km. He will compete with Nicolas Moreau (Team Albert Animation), who is in great shape after winning his title of National Champion FSGT 2017 Veteran. The Dutchman Thijs Verbrugghe will aim for the podium. Baum Cycles prepared him a bike with a special geometry, with a frame perfectly adapted to the layout of the Bugatti Circuit.
For non-competitors and families, do not miss “La Matinale Le Maine Libre”. More than 1500 people are expected to discover the Bugatti circuit during this one hour ride. This cyclo-tourist gathering is open to everyone with every kind of bikes. The access is free for accompanied children under 10.
Spectators will have free accesses to the venue and exhibitions proposed in the Village. Dedicated areas will be set up for them on each side of the Dunlop, the perfect place to enjoy the race. All the ingredients are gathered to have a great day with the family.
