A 2016 windy race which has mistreated the participants (up to 60km/h gusts). This weekend, it was better to stay under cover in the peloton.
Road cycling addict, the French television presenter Michel Drucker gave the « Le Mans type » start on Saturday and told us: " I know well this circuit, I moreover commented the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans. The most surprising or the most resting with the 24 Hours Cycling it is the silence, it changes of big engine! ".
Surprise guest coming back from Rio two days before, François Pervis, Olympic bronze medal-holder on track by team, was also present at the start. After two participations, the French champion likes the friendly atmosphere of this race.
At general ranking the S1Neo Team Connect six riders won for the second consecutive time. Kilian Patour, Sébastien Chevau, Frédéric Leproux, Benoit Poitevin, Sébastien Duret and Yohann Proust realised 233 laps, 975 kilometres despite the wind, against 970 in 2015. Winners with less than one laps ahead, the team must have to fight, especially during the night, where the Mutuelle Solimut Centre-Océan was coming back from 43 seconds. The B&F team, also in the same lap, complete the podium.
Evens Stievenart wins in the single rider category with 853 kilometres (204 laps) and a 88th place at the general ranking.
